Chenfeng Xiong Won 2nd Prize Student Paper Award at TRF 2014

Chenfeng Xiong was awarded the 2nd prize winner of student paper award of the 2014 Transportation Research Forum (TRF) Annual Meeting. The award was given by the TRF Foundation during the Awards Luncheon held at Sainte Claire Hotel in San Jose on Mar 14, 2014.

Mr. Chenfeng Xiong is currently a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, University of Maryland (UMD). He was originally from Hunan, China. Upon receiving his bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Tsinghua University in 2009, he joined UMD and received M.S. in Civil Engineering in 2011 and M.A. in Economics in 2013. Under the supervision of Dr. Lei Zhang, Mr. Xiong developed his major research interest in travel behavior and agent-based modeling. His paper on dynamic mode choice behavior was selected for this award. In this paper, he demonstrated a novel agent-based approach and data collection method for modeling travel mode decision-making processes.
