NTC@Maryland: National Transportation Center at the University of Maryland

Focuses on research, technology transfer and education related to strategic transportation policies, investments, and decisions. Research thrust areas include: congestion mitigation with multimodal strategies, freight efficiency and reliability, and national-level transportation analysis. One of the five national transportaiton centers funded by the USDOT University Transportation Center Program.

CITSM: Center for Integrated Transportation Systems Management (Our Tier 1 UTC from 2008~2013; Our new National UTC, see above, was established in 2013 and replaces the CITSM)

Focuses on the development of tools, processes and institutional relations that foster seamless management and operations of today’s transportation infrastructure.

CATT: Center for Advanced Transportation Technology

Provides a bridge between the intelligent transportation systems (ITS) community, the information technology community, and other disciplines essential to the successful application of ITS.

NCSG: National Center for Smart Growth Research and Education 

A non-partisan center for research and leadership training on smart growth and related land use issues in Maryland, in metropolitan regions around the nation, and in Asia and Europe.
